Does your brand's secret sauce live in your head? Are you not even sure you have a brand? Do you feel overwhelmed by marketing efforts & costs and unsure what to prioritize? When you know who you are, it becomes far easier to make decisions.


Brand strategy is a tool used by the world's most innovative companies to emphasize their strengths, clearly understand their audience, and de-position their competitors. It can also be a great tool for self-discovery, a way to clearly define what is unique about your company. In this workshop, we'll pull back the curtain and explore the tools used by major brands to help define your brand's character.

Brand character is the basis for your brand's personality.

It is the clear & concise definition of who you are & why you exist--it should be authentic, unique to you and should be the #1 reason your customers choose you over the competition.

But too often, we can't read the label from inside the bottle.

 

This workshop will help you dig into your "why" of your brand and draft it into a compelling persona and brand brief to inform all of your marketing efforts going forward.

What We'll Cover

WHAT IS BRAND CHARACTER?

The brands that are the most successful are also the most predictable. This consistency and authenticity builds loyalty and trust with their customers. We'll examine how brand character shows up in our world, and start to dissect some ways well-known brands are already using character to their advantage.

Defining Your Character

We'll dive right into an exercise designed to get you to identify the traits of your brand's personality--past, present, and future. We'll work together to help each other distill these traits down to land on the three that best encompass your brand, then craft this into a clear brand statement.

Archetype & Persona

Archetypes are central to all Western narratives and can be a powerful tool ito bring your brand story to life and connect with your audience. We'll cover how archetypes can be used in brand storytelling and which archetypal profile best suits your brand, then practice translating that into a brand persona.

Creating Your Brand Brief

Finally, we'll review how your brand's character & persona might come to life: what does it mean for your tone of voice, your color palette, your logo, or your customer experience? We'll engage in one final exercise to help translate your persona and character into an actionable brand brief.
